Now that the weather is nasty outside it’s time to think of carving again Christmas has come and gone and you might find yourself with some free time so think about finding a new project in trying out all the new tools that you received for Christmas.
I personally have been thinking of carving small-scale paddles for decorations and home I been searching for many patterns that I think would suit a smaller paddle. When scaling down a project you must remember you need space to do the carving in the proper tools for that smaller space.

Always remember that you can create your carving templates by pencil scan them into your computer and print them with a laser printer. Then you can take a hot iron and iron them onto a flat wooden surface for your carving pattern. This can work well for anyone that wants to transfer a pattern to a flat surface. I might add that I over did it one year, and I had to remove a lot of black ink for my carving. So be careful with the thickness of your lines when you’re drawing your pattern

Have a happy and safe new year and have fun
